You could be assessed on any of these skills across all three exams.
Atlas skills
- You should be able to use an atlas and find and give co-ordinates using latitude and longitude.
Ordnance Survey skills
- You should be able to find and give 4 and 6 figure grid references.
- Quote direction using the 8 point compass.
- You should be able to measure straight and curved line distances using a variety of scales.
- Use and understand how relief (the height and shape of the land) is shown using gradient, contours and spot heights.
- You should be able to draw and interpret a cross sections and a sketch map.
Photograph skills
- You should be able to draw a field sketch and work out which way the camera was pointing when given a photograph and a map.

You should be able to draw and interpret all these different typs of graph, chart and map:

Statistical skills
- You should be able to calculate the mean, median and mode of a data set, and work out the upper and lower quartiles and inter-quartile range.
- You should be able to calculate a percentage and the percentage increase or decrease and understand the use of percentiles.
